Florida Sea Cucumber

The Florida Sea Cucumber (Holothuria floridana) is the beginner-friendly counterpart to the tiger tail — same genus, but explicitly rated an easy, hardy cucumber that sifts sand for detritus and algae. "Florida sea cucumber" is a loose trade name that can occasionally cover Actinopyga agassizii at other vendors, a materially different animal with confirmed toxic Cuvierian-tubule release, so confirm the species on arrival. Wild adults reach ~20 cm though LFS specimens sell smaller. It needs a sandy bottom to feed and, like any cucumber, should be kept away from pump intakes.
