Sold under the same name as the much larger, non-reef Galápagos shore crab (Grapsus grapsus) — but the aquarium trade's Sally Lightfoot is actually Percnon gibbesi, a small, fast rock-dwelling crab. It starts out as a helpful algae grazer but grows into a genuinely predatory adult that LiveAquaria itself warns is "not compatible with small invertebrates or fish once mature." Herbivorous in the wild, opportunistically carnivorous in the confines of a tank.
