Rochia nilotica

Trochus (now scientifically Rochia, though "Trochus" is still the universal trade name) is a conical top-shell snail prized as the one CUC snail that can right itself if flipped — unlike Astraea, a Trochus knocked onto its back simply flips upright and keeps grazing. It grazes film algae, diatoms and cyanobacteria off glass, rock and substrate, is fully reef- and invert-safe, and is one of the longest-lived reef snails, with some specimens reported past 15 years. The trade also sells the closely related genus Tectus under the same "trochus" name.
