Naso Tang
Naso lituratus
The Naso Tang, or Orangespine Unicornfish, is a large, elegant grazer with a grey body, black facemask, yellow lips and bright orange-tipped tail spines. It is a powerful, near-constant swimmer that needs a big tank with a long footprint and a diet built around leafy macroalgae rather than meaty foods. Generally peaceful and reef-safe, it is only squabbly toward other similarly shaped tangs, but its heavy waste output demands serious filtration.
Keep just one per tank — two will fight.

Best kept apart
A real clash — aggression, predation or a same-genus fight.
Keep an eye on these
Usually fine, but worth watching in a smaller tank.
Good tankmates
No conflicts — a few popular ones to start with.
