Stonogobiops yasha

A tiny, elegant shrimp goby — white with diagonal red-orange bars and a tall, whippy first dorsal fin — that hovers a few centimetres above the burrow it shares with a pistol shrimp (commonly Alpheus randalli). It is peaceful and reef-safe but shy, so it settles best in a calm tank without boisterous or elongate-bodied bullies. Small enough for a nano, but a determined jumper that needs a sealed lid.
