Sixspot Sleeper Goby

A graceful pearly-white sand-sifter marked with a scatter of iridescent blue cheek spots, gliding across the substrate and taking mouthfuls of sand to strain out the microfauna within. That feeding habit is also its Achilles' heel: it demands a deep, mature, well-established sandbed teeming with copepods and worms, and specimens often waste away in sterile or new setups. Peaceful toward tankmates but territorial with its own kind unless a bonded pair, and a determined jumper that needs a tight lid. Best reserved for aquarists who can keep a living sandbed and target-feed frequently.
