The Lunare or Moon Wrasse is a blaze of blue-green scales, magenta facial scribbles and a brilliant yellow crescent tail that gives it its name. Famously bulletproof and always on the move, it is one of the hardiest marine fish you can buy, but that toughness comes with attitude: it grows large (FishBase records up to 45 cm), bullies tankmates and hunts down ornamental shrimp, snails and even small fish. It is also a determined jumper, so a tight lid is non-negotiable. Best reserved for a big, boisterous fish-only or robust community system.
