Exquisite Fairy Wrasse

Cirrhilabrus exquisitus

One of the larger and most widely distributed fairy wrasses, with a pale green-grey body carrying pink to red markings and blue fin edging that intensifies when a male displays. Colour varies noticeably by collection locality, so an Africa-sourced fish and a Fiji-sourced fish can look like different species. It is peaceful toward everything except other male Cirrhilabrus, so keep one male with two or more females unless the tank is very large. Plankton feeder that takes prepared food readily and stays out in open water, but it is a strong jumper and needs a fully covered tank.
