Filamented Dartfish

Ptereleotris hanae

Also sold as the Blue Hana Goby, the Filamented Dartfish is a metallic blue-green hoverer named for the male's elongated tail filaments, regularly imported and prized for its constant mid-water display above the sandbed. It often shelters in burrows dug by alpheid pistol shrimp, but the bond is opportunistic rather than a true partnership — it doesn't communicate with the shrimp the way a dedicated shrimp-goby does, and may simply be sharing a hole. Peaceful and reef safe, but a committed jumper that unsettles in anything but a mature, well-lidded tank; best added as an established pair.
